Bhupinder Singh Hooda (born 15 September 1947) is an Indian politician and leader of the Indian National Congress. He served as the Chief Minister of Haryana from 2004 to 2014. He began a second term in October 2009 after leading the Congress Party to an election victory. This was the first time since 1972 that a party had returned to power in Haryana 2 times consecutively. He is also a Member of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana. On 8 April 2010, Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh constituted the Working Group on Agriculture Production under his chairmanship to recommend strategies and action plan for increasing agricultural production and productivity, including long-term policies to ensure sustained agricultural growth. ==Early life== Bhupinder Singh Hooda was born to Ranbir Singh Hooda and Har Devi Hooda at the Sanghi village in Rohtak district of Haryana in a Hindu Jat family.〔(Bhupinder Hooda )〕〔 His father Ranbir Singh Hooda was a renowned freedom fighter.〔(Som Patidar )〕 He is an alumnus of Kunjpura Sainik School, Karnal.〔http://www.pib.nic.in/release/release.asp?relid=35950 Public Information Bureau release on Kunjpura Sainik School〕 He did his B.A., LL.B. was educated at Punjab University, Chandigarh and the University of Delhi.
